There was a first book!
My first novel about the Crown of the Andes is entitled One Sacred Crown, 2009. It too involved a crime. There is something about jewel heists and the lure of dazzling gold and emeralds for a bad guy! But the Crown of the Andes is in fact a work of sacred art, both for and about deity. It was made to adorn a statue of Mary, the mother of Christ, in Popayan, Colombia. Like all stones rolling along over centuries, the emeralds of this Crown have gathered legend and truth. How it came to be in the United States is in itself quite an interesting tale. But first, have a look. Go see it at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The Crown of the Andes is, as it was made to be for reasons of craftsmanship and theology and more, resplendent.
